PETRA embroidered linen shirt. Loose fit, pointed collar, two decorative techniques. The ornament of the shirt is inspired by the tradition of painted Easter eggs and appliquéd rushnyk from the Ivan Honchar Museum collection. The papercutting artworks known as vytynanky, created by the Hutsul artist and writer Paraska-Plytka Horytsvit, are a special reference for this design.
Rushnyk refers to traditional Ukranian decorative and ritual cloth, often embroidered or woven and used in various ceremonies like weddings, symbolizing life, fertility and heritage.
