Embroidered Milk Apron, Ivory

Gunia Project

2 items left

Limited edition apron - wear over trousers or dresses for an added interesting element.  The ornamental design and its method are inspired by the papercutting artworks known as vytynanky, created by the Hutsul artist and writer Paraska-Plytka Horytsvit.

The traditional print is inspired by the 1928 painted house from the Kharkiv region, rushnyky from the archives of the Ivan Honchar Museum, and the private collection of the GUNIA Project.

Rushnyk refers to traditional Ukranian decorative and ritual cloth, often embroidered or woven and used in various ceremonies like weddings, symbolizing life, fertility and heritage.
